Gordon “Slick” Frederick Irwin, 93, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and greatgrandfather. Slick was born March 21, 1922 in Sevier County. He was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps. Slick was an agricultural farmer for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newell and Ruby Irwin, and his brothers and sisters. Slick is survived by his wife of 69 years, Cookie Irwin; sons, Bob Irwin and wife, Brenda, and Tom Irwin; grandchildren, Heidi Householder and husband, Larry, Holli Williams and husband, Marques, Traci Isham and husband, Derrick, Brad Irwin and wife, Rachel; 9 greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 57PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour. Graveside service and interment 11AM Friday in Roseberry Cemetery with Pastor Larry Trotter officiating. Bob Irwin, Tom Irwin, Brad Irwin, Derrick Isham, Chase Ingle, Dillon Isham, Marques Williams, and Larry Householder will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
