Eld. Charles Allen Gentry, age 80 of Carthage, died Thursday morning, July 13 at his daughter’s home. He is survived by: children, Gina Morris and husband Tom of the Tanglewood Community, Julie Kitchen and husband Chris of Carthage, Chuck Gentry and wife Sabra of South Carthage; 5 grandchildren, Charlie Beth Gentry, Chloe Addison Kitchen, Kobe Bryce Kitchen; Ella Kate Gentry, Agnes Beth Gentry; sister, Katie Watts; brother, Bobby Gentry and wife Peggy.
Funeral Services for Eld. Gentry will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, July 16 at 3:00 PM at the North Carthage Baptist Church. Eld. Anthony Dixon will officiate and Jacky Carver Sr. will present the eulogy. Interment in the Smith County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Zary Shealy officiating. Serving as pallbearers are the North Carthage Baptist Church Deacons, Stephen Hackett, Jason Stewart, Daniel Boze, Jimmy Wilburn, Bruce Watts, Richard M. Brooks, Donny Brooks; Honorary Pallbearers, North Carthage Baptist Church Mens Class, Phil Kemp, Tom White, Kenny England, Jimmy Joe Boze, Bill Cothern, Roger Shoulders, Glenn Pettross, Bill Hackett Moore, Clark McKinney.
Visitation begins on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the North Carthage Baptist Church and on Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM at the church.
The family has requested memorials to North Carthage Baptist Church or Caney Fork Baptist.
