The 51st annual Smith County Horse Show, sponsored by the South Carthage Civitan Club, was held on June 19 at the Smith County Agricultural Center. There were 28 classes, with prizes awarded in each. Riders flocked to Smith County from across the Southeast, including Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky. For highlights from the event, see the attached video.
The South Carthage Civitan Club is a charitable organization. The club’s most outstanding project is its annual $1000 and $500 college scholarships awarded to Smith County students. The club also contributes to Little League Baseball and Softball and the Carthage and Gordonsville bands.
