At Smith County Help Center, we have much for which we are thankful. We live in a caring community which gives from the heart. Your donations of clothing, household items, furniture, books, etc., that provide an inventory for Second Editions Thrift Store. We are thankful for the customers who buy at the store and enable us to pay electric bills, give away food, emergency lodging, and emergency transportation and help disaster victims in various ways.
The Center gives clothing to foster children, missions, students in local schools and others with special needs. We are thankful for the churches and individuals who provide monetary support for the Center. We are proud to be able to say that every penny which is donated goes for those in need. Second Edition Thrift Store pays all operating expenses, as well as contributing funds to the Help Center. We are also thankful to those who donate time to the Second Editions Store. Many of our volunteers work in the store on a regular basis.
When we count our blessings we are grateful to say that the Smith County Help Center is a place which does HELP people, and this is only possible because of the support of the citizens of Smith County. If you would like to help with the mission of the Help Center, please consider volunteering or giving a donation. At the present time we are having a toy drive in preparation for the Christmas Give-A-Way to needy children in our county. We need the toys by December 1, 2015. Also, you can help by shopping at Second Editions. Shop till you drop and help your neighbor. Store hours are M-F 10-4 and Sat. 9-1.
