(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tenn. – On Saturday August 29, 2015, Smith County 911 received a call that there was a wreck on I-40 at the East 252 mile marker. The driver of the vehicle was Danielle Caldwell, of Kentucky.
Caldwell was traveling East on I-40 in a 2009 Ford Focus when she swerved to avoid hitting a dresser that was sitting in the right lane of the interstate. Caldwell’s vehicle hit the cable bearer on the left side of the road, then proceeded back across both lanes of traffic. Caldwell’s vehicle then struck the guard rail on the right side of the road, causing it to flip down a 20 ft. embankment.
Trooper Chris Delong of the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the scene, with assistance from Smith County Sheriff’s Department.
M & W Towing and Dale’s Towing & Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene.
