(Smith County Insider Press) Brush Creek, Tenn. – On Monday, January 9, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) on Alexandria Highway with entrapment.
As First Responders arrived on scene they found a Ford Taurus in a wooded area along Alexandria Highway about a mile south of the railroad crossing in Brush Creek. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Tracy Borden, 44, of Alexandria, TN. Borden was traveling North on Alexandria when she exited the left side of the roadway. When she exited the roadway she hit an embankment causing her to go airborne. Borden’s vehicle came to a final rest approximately 20 feet in the woods.
Smith County Rescue Squad had to use a chainsaw to cut a few trees before they could safely remove Borden from the vehicle. Along with Smith County Rescue Squad, Smith County EMS, Smith County Sheriff’s Office, Southside First Responders and THP responded to the call.
According to Trooper Brandon Jackson of the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s report, Borden had an odor of alcohol coming from her person.
Borden was airlifted by Vanderbilt LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with possible back injuries. Borden was believed to have been in stable condition at the scene.
Boden was charged with Driving Under the Influence.
