(Smith County Insider Press)—On the morning of Tuesday, October 30, 2018, a woman’s body was discovered at the edge of Cordell Hull Lake in Defeated, Tennessee. The woman was identified as Mary Dotson (45, Red Boiling Springs).
Dotson’s body was discovered after the Smith County Rescue Squad responded to a missing person report at 12:51 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Dotson’s family members reported that Dotson did not show up for work on Monday, and her car was found parked and abandoned on McClure’s Bend Lane.
The Rescue Squad searched the banks of the lake, and dispatch reported that they had found Dotson’s body partially in the lake and partially on the shore at approximately 7:00 a.m.
The cause of Dotson’s death is still under investigation.
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is expected to release further details soon.
