A Carthage woman was arrested after being caught shoplifting at Walmart Thursday, April 6.
Sgt. Daniel Padgett of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report of someone shoplifting.
According to the arrest warrant, Tina Grisham (48, Carthage) came into Carthage Walmart after repeatedly being told not to come in and having signed trespass forms.
Grisham was caught shoplifting various items totaling $115.
According to the arrest warrant, merchandise was damaged due to Grisham cutting her hand in an attempt to cut open packages.
Upon arrival, Padgett saw Grisham run into the bathroom at the Murphy U.S.A. gas station.
Padgett placed Grisham under arrest and transported her to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.
After arriving at the jail facility, Grisham was searched, at which time a bag was found concealed on her person that contained a white substance believed to be methamphetamine (schedule II).
Grisham is charged with possession of schedule II, criminal trespassing and theft of merchandise.
Additionally, Grisham faces charges of criminal impersonation and driving on revoked from a previous arrest the day before (April 5).
Grisham had been released from the Smith County Jail Facility after posting $7,500 bond prior to her April 6 arrest.
