A Pleasant Shade woman was arrested over the weekend after drugs were found in her possession.
Sgt. Jared Smith of the Carthage Police Department was on normal patrol when he noticed a van parked on Hillcrest Drive with all of its doors open. Upon a second pass through the area, Smith noticed all of the doors were closed, according to his report.
Smith checked out the location to investigate the vehicle and noticed a female subject “kneeling behind the vehicle,” according to his report.
The subject was identified as 21-year-old Alexis Wilkerson of Pleasant Shade. According to Smith, Wilkerson stated she was visiting a friend; she also stated she was on probation.
A search of her belongings revealed a container with scales, a syringe, small baggies, and a straw with residue.
Wilkerson was placed in the back of Smith’s patrol car while the investigation was completed, according to the report.
A white pill with the imprint of “V3604,” identified as hydrocodone, was located in Wilkerson’s front left pant pocket. A crystal substance was found in her shoes that field tested postive for .882 grams of methamphetamine. Additionally, clear baggies were located in her shoe that had been chewed up, which Wilkerson admitted was an attempt to hide or destroy the packaging. Also, Wilkerson admitted to attempting to destroy or conceal the packaging while she was sitting in the back of the patrol car, according to Smith’s report.
Wilkerson was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.
She is charged with Possession of Controlled Substances, Tampering with or Fabricating Evidence and Manufacturing/Delivery/Sell of Controlled Substances.
