
On September 1st Sergeant Junior Fields responded to a call for a welfare check at a Gordonsville restaurant after dispatch advised that a caller had observed a female driver falling down while exiting her SUV. When arriving to the business Sgt. Fields approached the vehicle and observed a female in the back seat. The female was identified at Ruby Owens, 60 from Marion, SC. During the conversation Sgt. Fields said that Owens had slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet when she was asked to exit the vehicle.
Lieutenant Scott Hale from Gordonsville Police Department responded to the scene to assist. A search of the vehicle was initiated. The search resulted in the discover of 7 small baggies of methamphetamine, 31 Adderall Pills, 6 1/5 Amphetamine Salts pills, 5 Hydrocodone Pills, a bag of Psilocybin Mushrooms a small amount of marijuana, a glass methamphetamine pipe and a glass marijuana pipe.
Owens was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, 2 counts of manufacturing, delivery and sell of controlled substance, 2 counts of possession of controlled substances and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $18,500 bond.
