Vehicle Strikes Pole on North Main in Carthage

(Smith County Insider Press) Carthage, Tenn. – On Wednesday, May 4, around 2:20 p.m. Smith County 911 received a call reporting that a small black car had struck an electric pole on North Main Street just past Woodard’s Machine & Service. Smith County 911 dispatched the Smith County EMS, Rescue Squad, and Carthage Fire Department to the scene. Carthage City Police and the Smith County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the call.

Upon arriving on scene, authorities found a black Scion tC that had exited the left side of the roadway and struck a pole. The female driver of the vehicle was transported to Riverview Regional Medical Center. The identity and condition of the driver is unavailable at this time.

Upper Cumberland Electric was also dispatched to the scene to assess the damage and replace the pole.

Dale’s Towing & Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene.
