(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tenn. – On Tuesday afternoon, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a vehicle accident just outside the city limits of Gordonsville on Hickman Highway.
Upon arriving on scene, authorities found a white Ford had overturned in the ditch. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Mackie Williams of the Hickman community. There was also a juvenile male passenger in the vehicle. Williams was traveling south on Hickman Highway when her vehicle exited the roadway. Her vehicle then struck a rock, causing it to overturn.
Both Williams and the juvenile were transported to Riverview Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Mackie Williams was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, 1st Offense. She was also cited for no license and failure to maintain lane of travel.
Dale’s Towing and Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene.
Trooper Adam Cothron of the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the scene.
