UT Extension News: Lunch and Learn Gardening Session

February 22, 2018

“How do I keep my tomatoes from rotting on the vine?”, “How much does it cost to build a raised bed”, “How much fertilizer does my garden need?” These and many more questions will be answered by University of Tennessee experts during our first ever Vegetable Gardening “Lunch and Learn” series.

These sessions will be held on the last 3 Wednesdays in March from 11:00 – 12:00 at the Smith County Chamber of Commerce at 939 Upper Ferry Rd in Carthage. Local residents are invited to spend their lunch break with us learning about various gardening topics. Topics and dates include:

Wednesday, March 14 – Gardening with Raised Beds

Wednesday, March 21 – Managing Diseases in the Garden

Wednesday, March 28 – Vegetable Garden Planning & Management

The cost, which includes lunch and materials, is $5 per session. You are invited to come to all the sessions, but if you can only make one or two that is ok also. To help with meal planning, please RSVP by the Monday before each session by calling UT Extension at 615-735-2900.

Space is limited so reserve your spot early. I look forward to seeing you for lunch!
