CARTHAGE, Tenn. — Upper Cumberland Weather is proud to announce Carthage as the first site of their Tower Cam Network.
This weather camera will provide never-before-possible views of thunderstorms approaching Carthage and surrounding areas — enabling Upper Cumberland Weather to cover severe weather with a real-time view of what’s happening both in the sky and on the ground.
The camera provides a television-broadcast-caliber, live video feed with remote pan, tilt and zoom capabilities with a full 360 degree rotation, allowing for views of the sky from from all directions.
In addition to the camera, instrumentation has been installed to provide accurate, real-time data for current temperature, wind speed, dew point, humidity and atmospheric pressure — information that will prove invaluable in a number of weather situations.
The Carthage Tower Cam was installed Thursday, March 17, and is fully operational. It is joined by a setup in neighboring Gainesboro as the first two sites for the camera network with many more planned in the near future throughout Middle Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland region.
Viewers of Upper Cumberland Weather’s 24/7 live channel will soon be able to see the cameras in action daily, many times each hour on a rotating cycle.
This camera network will also be used during live severe weather coverage on the Upper Cumberland Weather Channel, simulcast to Facebook and Twitter during active stormy weather.

The cameras and weather data can also be accessed at any time through the Radar Omega app on Android, iOS, MacOS and Windows.
