Two Men Arrested on Multiple Drug Offenses in Smith County

On March 13th, Sgt. Junior Fields stopped a black Ford Mustang after observing that the vehicle had an expired temporary license plate. The driver, identified as Mr. Edward Williams, was found to have a revoked license out of Greene County. He was asked to exit the vehicle along with the passenger Mr. Thomas Dwyer.

A search was conducted on the vehicle after the K-9 unit identified on the passenger side of the car. The search revealed a baggy with crystal methamphetamine, a hydrocodone pill, and baclofen pills. A Further search of the vehicle revealed three hypodermic syringes, a cut straw with powder residue, and a black box with additional residue inside.

Mr. William’s backpack was also searched, it contained five baclofen pills and a hypodermic syringe. Both men were placed under arrest and transported to the smith county Jail for processing.

Mr. Dwyer is charged with possession of controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of legend drug without a prescription.

Mr. Williams is charged with driving on a revoked license, possession of controlled substances, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of legend drug without prescription.

They are both considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
