Two people were arrested on drug charges following an investigation by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Junior Fields went to a Main Street residence in Carthage Sunday, December 4, to speak to Cheryl Ellis (51, Carthage) and Clinton Ellis (26, Brush Creek) about drug transactions that were occurring at said location.
During the visit, a search of Clinton’s phone was conducted, which revealed the two had conspired to sell Oxycodone pills which she is prescribed, according to Fields’ report.
According to the report, Cheryl had sold seven 7-10 10 mg Oxycodone pills for $12 each and admitted to having gave Clinton 10 Oxycodone pills of which he is not prescribed.
According to the report, Clinton admitted to setting up the deals, but Cheryl actually sold them.
Both Cheryl and Clinton Ellis were placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.
Cheryl Ellis is charged with fraud (forged prescription), manufacture/deliver/sell of a controlled substance (schedule II) and felony criminal conspiracy to sell schedule II.
Clinton Ellis is charged with felony criminal conspiracy to sell schedule II.
