Two Arrested After Meth and Ecstasy Packaged for Resale Found in Vehicle

(Smith County Insider Press) – On February 11, 2020, Deputy Nathan Williams encountered two individuals sitting inside a black Hyundai. While speaking with the occupants, Amanda Jackson (35, South Carthage) and Rickey Tisdale II (43, Carthage), Deputy Williams checked for active warrants on both occupants.

According to the police report, it was confirmed that Jackson had a violation of probation warrant out of Wilson County. She was told to exit the vehicle and placed into custody. A search of Jackson’s bag revealed a digital scale with crystal residue. A glass meth pipe was found in Tisdale’s bag, which he claimed as his.

According to the police report, a further search of the vehicle yielded a magnetic box underneath the driver’s seat containing 4 individual baggies of crystal meth for packaged for resale, having a total weight of 14 grams. Also in the box were 23 bags of Ecstasy/MDMA pills packaged for resale, 2 suboxone pills in a bag, and 1 bag containing unknown multicolored pills. Neither individual claimed ownership of the drugs located in the vehicle. Jackson stated she had been driving the vehicle for 2 weeks while her vehicle was being worked on.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Smith County Justice Center. Once at the Jail, Jackson gave Deputy Williams a hypodermic syringe and a contact case with a crystal residue in it, which she admitted to injecting methamphetamine.

Jackson is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, mfg/del/sell controlled substances, and possession of controlled substances.

Tisdale is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, mfg/del/sell controlled substances, and possession of controlled substances.
