(Smith County Insider Press) – On February 6, 2020, Sergeant Junior Fields and Deputy Daniel McCoy conducted a covert operation via Facebook Messenger in which John Bonner III (48, Lebanon) agreed to deliver an ounce of Crystal Methamphetamine to them at the Rome Dollar Store in exchange for $450.00.
According to the police report, Deputy Ray Biggs and Sergeant Junior Fields went to Lebanon Highway and made contact with a White 2005 Chevy Aveo after confirming that Bonner was the registered owner. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle, and contact was with the driver, Bonner, and well as a female passenger identified as Brittany Taylor (30, Carthage). Bonner and Taylor were advised that Sergeant Fields was aware of the crystal meth and the sale which was to be made at the Rome Dollar Store. At that time, Taylor pulled 2 small baggies of crystal meth from her bra.
Bonner and Taylor were placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail for Processing.
Bonner is charged with criminal conspiracy and possession of methamphetamine.
Taylor is charged with criminal conspiracy and possession of methamphetamine.
