(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tenn. – Early Tuesday morning, November 29, Smith County 911 reviewed a call reporting a tractor-trailer truck had flipped on its side around the 262 East bound mile marker on I-40.
The truck was traveling East on I-40 when it struck the guard rail on the right hand side of the interstate. Upon striking the guard rail, the truck flipped on its side and came to a final rest down an embankment.
The driver of the truck was identified as Stanley Trull of Greenfield, TN. Trull was hauling 5,000 pound rolls of paper for Milan Supply Solutions out of Milan, TN. Trull was not injured in the accident.
Trull was cited for failure to maintain lane.
A portion of I-40 was shut down for over ten hours while the wreckage was cleaned up and loaded onto another truck.
Trooper Mark Jones of the Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the scene, along with assistance from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department and Smith County EMA.
