Deputy Nathan Williams initiated a traffic stop on a red ford pick-up on August 3, 2022. While following the vehicle on Main Street in Gordonsville the driver accelerated to 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. The vehicle pulled into the former Pa’s Storage parking area. The driver was identified as Paul Daniel Boyett. Deputy Williams observed a glass methamphetamine pipe clearly visible on the driver’s floorboard.
Boyett was questioned about the presence of drugs in the vehicle and admitted to having methamphetamine in a black container in the the vehicle. The car was search and .2 grams of methamphetamine along with 4 Adderall pills. Boyett was transported to Smith County Criminal Justice Center. He was charged with possession of schedule Ii, possession of methamphetamine for resale and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $5500 bond.
