CARTHAGE, Tenn. — The Town of Carthage is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker Level 1 position within its Water and Sewer Line Maintenance Department.
The position is a hands-on, manual labor role that requires experience with water main installation and repair. The successful applicant should be capable of performing a variety of general labor duties while working as part of the town’s construction crew.
Responsibilities include:
- Loading, unloading and spreading gravel, dirt and debris.
- Shoveling ditches.
- Installing water and sewer line taps.
- Collecting monthly water meter readings.
- Processing work orders for new water customers and service cutoffs.
- Operating heavy equipment and other small machinery.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
