tnAchieves is proud to announce the Class of 2026 inductees into its Mentor Hall of Fame. These volunteers have changed the trajectory of students in their communities, opening doors to the credentials, careers and economic prosperity that follow. These mentors have helped students navigate the path to college and career through the Tennessee Promise scholarship program. Many have returned year after year, building lasting relationships and helping students turn their college and career goals into reality. Their support strengthens the skilled workforce that Tennessee needs to thrive.
“Our mentors represent the very best of Tennessee,” said Randy Boyd, tnAchieves Board Chairman. “They generously give their time, share their experiences and remind students that someone believes in them and their future. The relationships they build can make a lasting difference in a student’s life. Our Mentor Hall of Fame is an opportunity to celebrate these extraordinary individuals and thank them for the encouragement and commitment they bring to Tennessee students.”
Since 2008, tnAchieves has recruited 105,509 volunteers to serve students across the state. While Hall of Fame mentors are being recognized today, every Tennessean who has given their time to support students is making a difference in their community.
Russell Dyer, a 2026 inductee from Shelby County, reflected on the experience:
“Serving as a mentor has been both rewarding and humbling. It has allowed me to hear students’ stories, better understand the challenges they face and celebrate their successes as they take important steps toward their futures. The experience has reinforced my belief in the power of relationships and reminded me that sometimes a student’s confidence can grow simply because someone took the time to encourage and support them.”
Students feel that impact every day. One Shelby County student shared what having a mentor has meant to them:
“My tnAchieves mentor supported me through challenges, listened when I needed someone to talk to and gave me advice that has helped me make better decisions. Having someone who believes in me has helped me become more confident, motivated and focused on my future.”
