The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a Distracted Driving Enforcement Campaign with local Law enforcement agencies in Smith County on Friday, December 20, 2019.
Distracted driving accounts for approximately 25% of all motor vehicle crash fatalities. At the time of fatal crashes, teens have been the largest age group that reported being distracted while driving. Driver distraction is reported to be responsible for more than 58% of teen crashes.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol recognizes that Distracted Driving enforcement is an effective tool in reducing Distracted Driving crashes.
