(Smith County Insider Press) Pleasant Shade, Tenn. – A second Democrat has entered the Tennessee House of Representatives race for the 40th District seat.
Teresa Marion of the Pleasant Shade Community qualified to run against Gayla Hendrix of Smithville as a Democrat for the August primary election.
My name is Teresa Marion, I’m running as a Democrat for the Tennessee House of Representative, from District 40. I have been a resident of Smith County for 28 years along with my second husband of 34 years. I have two daughters and five grandchildren. My family history is blue collar and progressive. As a survivor of domestic violence and a single parent, I’ve held a variety of jobs, two and three at a time, one of which was as a paralegal for a nonprofit law firm, counseling other survivors of domestic violence. I have a college education but, do not have a degree or pedigree. I’m not a Lawyer, Politician or Entertainer. My reason for running for Representative from District 40 is to take back the voice of the people “we the people” and to hold our representatives accountable. Make them do their jobs, instead of patting themselves on the back for NOT doing their jobs and wasting the tax payers money. My contact information is wildchild37145@aol.com. I would love to hear from the hard working people of District 40.
