Williams Ag Lime is owned and operated by Jon Williams, Smith County Native. He offers Agricultural Lime Spreading by the ton, using a semi truck setup with a spreader bed and GPS system. Services are offered through out Smith County and surrounding areas.
Williams experience at the local Co-op driving trucks and delivering bulk feed for local farmers partially fueled his interest in serving farmers. When his uncle mentioned wanting to slow down and retire from Lime spreading, he decided it would be a great way to start my own business.
Williams was born and raised in Hickmans, TN. He currently resides with his wife Ashley in the Pleasant Shade area. Both sides of his family have been in the farming industry. He said the farming legacy has been in his blood “since before I was born, including my great-grand parents, Gordon and Mary-bell Winfree of Hiwassee and my grand parents Brownie and Ann Williams of Hickman both farmed there whole lives.”
Winfree hopes to continue to serve the same areas his Great Uncle Bobby Winfree served for over 20 years and retain his loyal customers, while gaining new customers as his reputation and business grows. He said his favorite thing about being a business owner is being able to go out and meet local farmers and seeing all of our great farm land we have here that surrounds us.
