Sophie Linder wins 4th consecutive TSSAA Golf State Championship

October 7, 2022

Gordonsville’s Sophie Linder capped off a historic high school career at the 2022 TSSAA Class A Girls’ Golf State Championship. Still, it didn’t come without excitement, as she completed a four-peat in Sevierville this week.

Linder was up three strokes after shooting a seven-under 63 on the first eighteen holes. This is the lowest 18-hole score in TSSAA championship history, besting her record from last year by one stroke.

She tied with Karlie Campbell of Summertown after 36 holes after each shot -8 over the two-day championship. Linder won the two-way playoff on the first hole after shooting a birdie to capture a record fourth state golf title.

Linder becomes the fourth golfer all-time in state history to win four state titles and holds the two lowest scores ever recorded in championship history.

Linder will graduate from Gordonsville next Spring and continue her golfing career with the Ole Miss Rebels golf team in Oxford, MS. She hopes to continue her playing career in the LPGA Tour one day.

Congratulations Sophie!
