(Smith County Insider Press) Carthage, Tenn. – On Friday, November 6, Sgt. Junior Fields of the Smith County Sheriff’s Department responded to an alleged domestic assault on Rome Road. Upon arrival, Sgt. Fields spoke with Mrs. Kimberly Beasley. Mrs. Beasley stated that her son, Matthew Beasley, had struck her in the face while she was driving. She then pulled over to the side of the road, and Matthew grabbed her around the neck. Kimberly’s other son, Ryan Beasley, allegedly attempted to remove Matthew from his mother at which time Matthew began striking Ryan as well.
Matthew fled the scene after his mother had called 911. Sgt. Fields along with Deputy Hale located Beasley on Dixon Springs Hwy. He was then placed under arrest and transported to Smith County Sheriff’s Department for processing. Mrs. Beasley was taken to the hospital for medical treatment after giving her statement.
Matthew Beasley was charged with 2 counts of domestic assault and his bond was set at $15,000.
