(Smith County Insider Press) – Although we may not have quite as many eating establishments as we might like in Smith County, we all have our favorites among the few. We often take a seat in our favorite local restaurant, devour the delicious meal brought to our table, and enjoy the familiar scenery without ever wondering what processes and precautions were taken in the preparation of that meal. As you may know, the state health department has a set of standards that are to be maintained in local restaurants.
These standards include things such as cleanliness, maintaining appropriate facilities, and storing food at the correct temperatures. Health inspectors are sent out by the state at different times throughout the year to monitor these standards and ensure that all measures are being taken to serve the community the highest quality of food and service. Below is listed the majority of the eating establishments in the county. Included is the name of the establishment, the most current score that was given, and the date the score was posted. If you would like to view the specifics of each report or find the score of your favorite out-of-town restaurant you may visit https://apps.health.tn.gov/EHInspections/
