The remains of hurricane Ida brought three to four inches of rain to the Smith County area, but we fared better than some as 5 and 1/2 to 6 inches was reported in portions of Davidson and Rutherford Counties. After a week that started out with heavy rain, we will now end with sunny and pleasant weather. Scattered showers will return this weekend with 30% Saturday and 50% Sunday.
We have rolled into the month of September, and we can get anything from 90 degrees to frost during the month. It’s going to be really interesting to see what the month holds in store for us.
This week my local Farm Bureau board of directors presented me with the 2021 friend of Agriculture award. In our evening sky this week you can see the very bright planet Venus in the Western sky after sunset. Jupiter is the planet rising in the Southeastern Sky shining brightly as the night goes along
