by Steve Norris – After being in the 60s Thursday and Friday, an arctic front comes through Friday night with snow and some accumulation is expected so keep up with the latest forecast. 22 degrees Friday night for the low and a high Saturday of only 35. A rapid warming Trend begins on Sunday with highs in the 50s and then 60s Monday and Tuesday.
We are now beginning the severe weather season in Tennessee which will last through May. On March 3, 2020, an EF-3 tornado moved thru the Nashville Metro and an EF-4 moved thru Putnam County a couple of hours later…resulting in widespread damage, hundreds of injuries & 25 fatalities. The Cookeville tornado produced wind speeds near 175 mph, that is a night of my weather career that I will never forget.
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour next Saturday night March 12th before you go to bed as we go back on daylight savings time and sunset on March 13th will not be until around 6:50.
