The weekend is looking much better with fair to partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s, great for outdoor activities! The chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms will go back up to 40% from Monday through Wednesday. We received some much needed rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday as the front moved through.
Now that the month of June has arrived, the most likely effects from thunderstorms will be strong straight-line wind as well as cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. Sometimes a thunderstorm will develop some rotation, but it is rare when it touches the ground in the summer and is very brief. As the saying goes, when thunder roars, Go indoors!
