Smith County Weather Report – July 9, 2020

July 9, 2020

by Steve Norris, Smith County Insider Weather Correspondent

Our weather pattern can be summed up with heat and humidity and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

High temperatures over the next five days will range from 90 to 95 degrees.

Thunderstorms are most likely on Friday with a 50% chance for the weekend. Many of the thunderstorms will produce heavy downpours and cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. There will be quite a bit of tropical moisture coming up from the south into Tennessee, so some of these thunderstorms May dump an inch of rain in an hour.
