by Steve Norris – We are enjoying a lovely weather pattern that will continue through Friday with temperatures climbing into the low 60s by Friday afternoon. Clouds start moving in late Saturday and we have a chance of rain showers and snow showers Saturday night with temperatures dropping into the 20s. Super Bowl Sunday is going to be a cold one with highs only in the upper 30s and dropping into the upper teens in some areas Sunday night. Starting around next Wednesday we are going to see the rain chances going up and it will also be warmer once again with temps in the 50s.
The numbers are in for the month of January and temperatures were well below normal, about three degrees and rainfall averaged 2 to 3 inches above normal. One of the highest totals in Middle Tennessee was down in Lincoln County with over 10 inches, many places in eastern Davidson and Western Rutherford County and Western Wilson had over 8 inches of rain for the month.
We had our share of snowfall in January that is for sure with one spot about eight miles east of Murfreesboro reporting 16 inches inches total. 15 inches in Nolensville and Brentwood with 14 inches in Carthage and Christiana.
