We are going to be in an up-and-down weather pattern for the next 5 days.
Scattered showers are possible Friday but Saturday is looking dry with highs in the 50s. Rain returns by Sunday night and is likely Monday and Monday night, and we could get a couple of inches from this system. I think we will even have some showers lingering on Tuesday.
By Wednesday we start getting some clearing but much colder with highs not much above 40 and dropping into the 20s at night. More rain is expected from December 13th to the 16th, so we are not going to have much of a chance to dry out anytime soon.
November was a wet one across Smith County with rain totals ranging from 6 to 7 inches, which is several inches above normal. The way things are looking we’re probably going to post another big total for the month of December.
Temperatures can vary considerably at this time of the year, in an hour looking back segment I uncovered these facts. December 3rd 1982, we soared into the upper 70s but on December 6th 1937, high temperatures were only able to reach the upper teens.
