It is our great pleasure to announce that Smith County Insider is partnering with Smith County Weather to deliver quality weather information right here on our website!
Smith County Weather is a social media weather page on Facebook and Twitter that delivers both daily forecasts and real-time updates when severe weather is threatening our area. It started in September of 2012, and since then, it has grown to over 3,000 Facebook fans and 700 Twitter followers, respectively. Smith County Weather’s dedication to providing accurate and dependable weather information over the past few years has made the page a tremendous resource the community can turn to, especially when the weather takes a turn for the worse and updates on what is going on are vital. With this success, Smith County Weather has established close ties with the National Weather Service office in Nashville as a #tSpotter coordinator page, and it has been recognized by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) as a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.
Current plans are to have weather forecasts posted on our new “Weather” section around 4 to 5 times per week. Smith County Weather will still continue to operate as its own separate entity, with no changes coming to the format that the page’s followers have to come to expect. This is simply a partnership between the two entities to bring quality weather information to the Smith County Insider website. Updates will be shared to both Smith County Insider and Smith County Weather on Facebook and Twitter, so be on the lookout for that.
It is our hope that this partnership will be something our readers greatly appreciate. Weather information is something that has been requested several times since our inception earlier this year, and we believe we have chosen an excellent partner to help bring it to you!
