UPDATE: As of Thursday, April 2, 2020, all Kindergarten and Voluntary Pre-K Registrations will be rescheduled at a later date.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, please read the following information provided by the Smith County Board of Education.
The dates for Kindergarten Registration are as follows. You may call your school for more information.
- CES (615-735-0433) – April 17, 2020
- DES (615-774-3150) – April 17, 2020
- FRS (615-897-2676) – April 9, 2020
- NMS (615-683-8411) – April 3, 2020
- UHS (615-735-1975) – April 17, 2020
Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before August 15 in order to start school during the 2020-2021 school year.
It is very important to register for the school your child will be attending.
Please bring the following information when registering your child:
- Birth Certificate
- Tennessee Certificate of Immunization
- Physical Examination (conducted by August 1, 2020)
- Proof of Smith County residency (utility or tax statement)
- Proof of custody if the child does not live with one or both natural parents
- Students may register for Kindergarten without required documentation; however, students must have documentation to begin school in August.
