Smith County Schools free breakfast and lunch continues this week – March 30 – April 3, 2020

Last week, the Smith County Board of Education announced that Smith County Schools will be closed through Monday, April 27, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All facilities will be closed and activities will be cancelled with the exception of the Smith County School Nutrition Department.

During this time, free breakfast and lunch will be provided to any child 18 or younger. The child must be present to receive a grab-and-go meal.

Meals will be available for pick up at Smith County High School, Gordonsville Elementary School, Union Heights Elementary School, and Defeated Elementary School.

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Smith County School System staff will also be delivering meals to children in the community. If you would like to be added to the delivery route, please call your school before 7:30 a.m. each morning and leave a message with your address and number of meals needed.

The menu on Monday (03/30/20) is ham and cheese sandwich, baked chips, pork and beans, carrots with ranch, fruit, and milk.

On Tuesday (03/31/20), the menu is breaded chicken sandwich, seasoned potato, corn on the cob, fruit, and milk.

On Wednesday (04/01/20), the menu is breaded chicken wrap, tortilla chips, white cheese sauce, salsa, fruit, and milk.

On Thursday (04/02/20), the menu is pizza lunchable, broccoli with ranch, fruit, and milk.

On Friday (04/03/20), the menu is ham and cheese sandwich, turkey and cheese sandwich, baked chips, veggie juice box, fruit, and milk.
