The Smith County Pregnancy Help Center is pleased to announce and welcome their new director, Martha Holladay. There has been a lot of changes and renovations at PHC. New hours of service for clients will be Monday 1 – 4 p.m., Wednesday 1-4 p.m., Friday 1- 5 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Administrative hours for community out-reach and day-to-day business and communications will be 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The Pregnancy Help Center of Smith County is a Christ-centered ministry offering life-affirming and compassionate care to women, men and children who face pregnancy and parenting related issues. PHC assists clients with finding answers to the questions they are asking concerning being pregnant or parenting. We serve women, men and children. Services are available to anyone, regardless of income. The only requirement to become a client is to be pregnant or have a child under the age of two to start receiving our services. They offer free pregnancy tests to confirm pregnancy, information regarding decisions they may face about their pregnancy and love and compassion in a non-judgemental safe place.
The house is in the process of getting a fresh new look. PHC is grateful to several community members and businesses who have supported the efforts financially.
Holladay has enjoyed the process and has a special thanks to her Mother. “What an honor and blessing to work along side my Mother in this endeavor! Not only does she work tirelessly to clean and organize as a volunteer, but she also donated funding for an update of the front entrance to the Pregnancy Help Center.” The new entry will just be the beginning of the remodeled and revitalized PHC.
Robin and Clete Underwood’s very generous donation allowed for the complete renovation of the front room to a full service conference and educational facility. Holladay shared, “We now have a very nice place to host pregnancy and parenting classes as well as other meetings. Our goal is to connect with various service-minded organizations and work together to help where we can. We are looking forward to using this room in many ways in the future as we serve our community. I so appreciate the kindness and generosity of the Underwood family. I can’t wait for the public to see what we have to offer at our Open House later in the summer.”
Smith County Bank has invested in the beautification of the remodeled Pregnancy Help Center. The investment will add to the beauty and welcoming atmosphere of our Center and our community. Holladay said “We want our clients and visitors to feel a sense of invitation. calmness and peace when they come to the Center. New landscaping is a much appreciated addition”
Citizens Bank will sponsor the “Earn while you learn” program and boutique at the Pregnancy Help Center. The bank has a vested interested in our community and helping people budget “money” well is a priority.
The changes are happening now at the PHC and will be revealed with a new look and a fresh vision in June, the anticipated Open House/Grand Re-Open and Reveal.
