Smith County Native Killed in Lebanon House Fire

(Smith County Insider Press) Lebanon, Tenn. – Late Tuesday night, Wilson County 911 received a call reporting a structure fire at the corner of Page and West Forrest Avenues. Firefighters were able to make it to the scene within minutes. Firefighters found a one story home engulfed in flames.

Three individuals lived in the residence, Larry Murray, Lynn Porter Ruiz, and Scott Murray.

Larry Murray and Scott Murray were able to make it out of the burning home. Larry Murray was transported to Vanderbilt Regional Burn Center where he remains in critical but stable condition. His son, Scott Murray, was not injured in the fire.

Ruiz was trapped in a back room of the home and died of smoke inhalation.
