Smith County Junior League All-Stars win state title, prepare to compete in regional tournament

The Smith County Junior League All-Stars pose with their State Championship banner after a victory over the Montgomery Central All-Stars at Crump Paris Park last Wednesday night.

The Smith County Junior League All-Stars baseball team was awarded a championship title after competing in the state tournament held at Crump Paris Park last week.

The boys received the Tennessee State Junior League Champions title after a 12-2 win over the Montgomery Central All-Stars on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

The team will now head to Broadway, Virginia, to compete in the regional tournament on August 2-5.

Smith County’s first game will be played against South Carolina at 11:30 a.m. (ET) on Friday, August 2. To see the complete Southeast Regional Tournament schedule, click here.

If the team advances past regional play, the boys will compete in the Little League World Series, which will be held in Taylor, Michigan, on August 11-18, 2019.

Players on the Smith County Junior League All-Stars team are all between the ages of 12 and 14. The team consists of the following players: Hudson Graber, Kyle Adams, Westen Vance, Kylan Johnson, Abe Goolsby, Ethan Crockett, Ty Martin, TJ Testa, Maddux Bradley, Peyton Hix, Neil Brown, Adam Welsh, and Sam Albritton.

Tracy Mofield is the head coach of the Junior League All-Stars. Assistant coaches are Jeff Crockett and Roscoe Vance.

Last Wednesday’s victory marks the first time that a Smith County Junior League team has won a state championship title.
