Proud alumni and supporters of the Smith County High School football program will gather for a meal on the evening of Thursday, February 28, 2019, to fellowship and raise funds for the Smith County High School Quarterback Club.

The supporters dinner will be held inside the SCHS Cafeteria, located at 312 Fite Avenue East in Carthage. The event will begin with a meet-and-greet at 6:00 p.m., followed by a meal at 7:00 p.m. Each meal will include a steak, baked potato, salad, roll, drink, and dessert.

Guest speakers for the evening are Coach Gary Rankin and Dr. David McDonald.

The cost to attend is $25, and everyone is welcome. All proceeds will go to the SCHS Quarterback Club.

Smith County Insider spoke with SCHS head football Coach Murf Murray about the upcoming event.

“It’s open to anyone. You don’t have to be alumni,” Coach Murray clarified. “That’s why we called it the alumni and supporters dinner.”

Coach Murray imagines the event as a time for former SCHS players to talk, mingle, and interact with the esteemed guest speakers, as well as a time for those inside and outside of the county to show their support for the football program.

“We are very excited to be hosting this for the first time this year. We are hoping to have a very successful event. Once again, this is for our Quarterback Club, for our facilities, for our team. We wish that everyone would come out and support the football team,” Coach Murray concluded.

If you wish to attend the Smith County High School Football Alumni and Supporters Dinner, you can purchase a ticket by contacting Coach Murray or any member of the SCHS Quarterback Club directly, or by visiting the SCHS Football Facebook page.
