Smith County High School FCCLA members compete at State Leadership Meeting

Mrs. Rachel Bush, teacher and adviser, and 12 members from SCHS FCCLA attended State Leadership Meeting on March 20-22, 2019, in Chattanooga, Tennesssee. 6 teams competed and 3 are going on to National Leadership Meeting in Anaheim, CA, in July 2019.

Kalli Woodard, Talon Cothern, and Emmie Huffines completed in Advocacy and received 3rd place with a bronze rating.

Marissa Harriman competed in Creed and placed 2nd with a bronze rating.

Kensea Skelton and Maria Mundy competed in Food Innovations and received 2nd place with a gold rating.

Brooke Halliburton and Katie Beth Davenport competed in Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation and received 1st place with a gold rating.

Brendan Key competed in Recycle and Redesign received 7th place with a silver rating.

Shelbie Manus competed in Interpersonal Communications and received 2nd place with a silver rating.

Students receiving 1st or 2nd place move on to National STAR Event competition.

The chapter also received an award for level 3 membership campaign since the number of members increased from last year by 15 members.

Grace Harville, the 2018-2019 TN FCCLA State President, passed down her position on Friday to the new incoming president. SCHS is so proud of her accomplishments!
