Smith County Government Launches New Website

October 13, 2020

During the October 2020 Meeting of the Smith County Commission, Mayor Jeff Mason announced the launch of a brand new website for the Smith County Government. The new website may be found at https://smithcotn.com.

The website contains resources for residents, visitors, and businesses, including local media outlets, business resources, and available online services.

The Smith County Government will use the website to communicate items such as announcements, events, and legal notices. Information on each county department and its services have been available. Each department listing has a description of the department, director/elected official information, services offered, contact information, hours of operation, and frequently asked questions.

Information on the County Commission, including each district’s commissioners, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, and recordings of past meetings, is readily available on the new website.

Mayor Jeff Mason stated, “One of the things I noticed when I first came into office was we were behind in a government website. I started looking at other counties and got some ideas. We mentioned it to Pat Geho, and he got his crew at the SBDC [Small Business Development Center] to help us build it at no cost. We are pleased with it, but I am sure we will add new features and continue to make it better. I want to thank my executive assistant Staci Bush, Jen Dangelo, and Terri Bruce for working together to get this done.”
