A local family from Smith County claims two cash prizes totaling $110,000 after winning the nationally recognized TV show, America’s Funniest Home Videos. The video entry claimed a 10k cash prize as it was selected out of dozens of entries for the show.
Jennifer Hensley sent in the video of her four-year-old son, Harlan, expressing his independence during a routine morning drop off at his preschool. He very obviously did not want his mother to walk him in, but finally agreed after realizing she wanted to; although, his countenance and tone completely reveal his true feelings about the situation. Watch the video that made millions laugh here.

“The video is of my son, Harlan (age 4). He attends SCPS at Carthage United Methodist Church. As you can see, he is very independent and excited to walk in to school by himself. He has always had a big personality and loves to make everyone laugh.”- Jennifer Hensley
After winning the initial round of AFV, the family went on to compete as finalists on the program on May 16th, 2021. The video was chosen and the family walked away with an additional 100k grand prize. Harlan’s mom says they are so excited and thrilled to have won $110,000 on AFV! Although the video brought great fortune to the family, Harlan has already made it clear to his Mom that she can’t walk him into school next year because he is a bog boy.
The Hensley Family will make one more appearance on AFV next week on May 23, where a Disney Cruise is up for grabs on the final episode of Season 31.
