The Smith County Events Committee and the Smith County Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses, organizations, churches, families, and community members to join in the Halloween fun by participating in this year’s Hometown Halloween Trunk or Treat, scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, on Main Street in Carthage, Tennessee.
This beloved community tradition brings families together for an evening of Halloween excitement, creative decorations, and plenty of sweet treats. Organizers are looking for additional participants willing to decorate their vehicles, fill their trunks with candy, and help create a fun and memorable experience for children and families throughout Smith County.
Main Street will close to traffic at 4:00 p.m. to allow participating vehicles time to arrive, set up, and prepare for the festivities. Trick-or-treating will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., giving families three hours to enjoy the decorated trunks, collect candy, and celebrate Halloween in a festive community atmosphere.
Whether you represent a local business looking to connect with the community, a church or civic organization wanting to give back, or a family that simply loves Halloween, this is a wonderful opportunity to get involved. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their decorations, dress in costume, and bring plenty of treats to share with the children. From spooky and silly to colorful and imaginative, every decorated trunk adds something special to the celebration.
Those interested in participating are asked to contact the Smith County Chamber of Commerce at 615-735-2093 to register their vehicle and receive an assigned location along Main Street. Advance registration will help organizers coordinate vehicle placement and ensure a smooth setup for the event.
Mark your calendars for October 31, gather your candy, and get those creative ideas flowing! Whether you’re decorating a trunk or bringing the family out for trick-or-treating, Hometown Halloween is a wonderful way to celebrate the season and enjoy the spirit of our community.
