Submitted: Katie Clark – Smith County 4-H

Smith County 4-H is excited to present our summer cooking day camp! Our event “Let’s Cook” with professional chef David Dillehay will be on Friday, July 14th, at First Baptist Church Gordonsville. The camp will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. 4-Hers will have a chance to make smoothies and learn about farm fresh ingredients as well as make their own homemade pizza for lunch. They will have the opportunity to participate in food fear factor, where they will try foods they may have never tried before. We will finish the day out with cupcake decorating wars! Participants will learn real world skills like following a recipe, converting measurements, and more, all while having a great time. The cost to participate is $30 per camper, which covers all supplies and food they will need for the day. “Let’s Cook” is open to grades 4-8 but space is limited so call today to register! For further information or to register call the Smith County Extension Office at 735-2900.
