On Tuesday, October 13, Deputy Gary Gillilan and Sgt. Steve Babcock were dispatched to assist Deputy Daniel Padgett in an alleged shoplifting at Wal-Mart. Andrew Daniels was found to be the alleged suspect. The officers ran a check on Daniels’ license which came back as revoked. Several pill bottles were noticed in the front seat of Daniels’ vehicle. Consent was given to search. The search revealed 2 oxycodone, 21 hydrocodone, 33 Alprazolam, a cut straw with powdery residue, a brass pipe with marijuana residue, a license plate, and several miscellaneous items which were believed to possibly be stolen. Daniels was thus charged with driving on a revoked license, procession of schedule II drugs, Possession of schedule IV drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County jail for booking. Daniels is also under investigation for theft.
