(Smith County Insider Press) Carthage, Tenn. – On Monday, December 19, the Smith County Sheriff’s Office along with the 15th Judicial Drug Task force begin searching for 47 suspects that were wanted, resulting from an undercover operation called, “Operation Season’s Greetings.”
All 47 of the suspects were part of the 62 sealed indictments returned by the grand jury. On December 5, 2016 the Grand Jury met at the Smith County Court Facility for their December Session. During the session, the Grand Jury returned 99 indictments, 62 of which remained sealed.
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office along with several other law enforcement agencies were able to locate 27 of the suspects on by Tuesday afternoon, December 20. 10 of the suspects were already incarcerated in the Smith County Jail Facility and the other 17 were located by several teams of police officers since Monday.
