(Smith County Insider Press) Lancaster, Tenn. – On Wednesday afternoon, Smith County 911 received several calls reporting grass and brush fires around the 300 block of Lancaster Highway.
Lancaster Fire Department was dispatched to the all three calls. The first call was near the roadway at 302 Lancaster Highway. The second call was also near 302 Lancaster Highway.
The third call was on a hillside behind the residence at 258 Lancaster Highway. The fire spread rapidly up a hill into a wooded area. Central District Fire Department was also called to the scene to assist.
No homes or structures were damaged during the fires and the cause is unknown at this time.
