(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tenn. – On Monday night, February 1, the Smith County 911 received a call that a semi-truck had overturned at the Buffalo Valley rest area. Deputy Nathan Williams of the Smith County Sheriff’s Department was one of the first officials on scene. He found that a semi-truck had tried to pull over on the shoulder to park for the night and had overturned. The truck parked too close to the muddy ditch, causing it to slide down a short incline, coming to a rest on its right side. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Riverview Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the scene along with assistance from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department, Smith County EMS, and the Smith County Rescue Squad.
The name of the driver has not been released at this time.
